First aid and fire safety training at IMA Polska
IMA Polska S.A. employees took part in intensive training in first aid and fire safety. The two-day workshop was led by experienced specialists from the National Fire Service, imparting the practical knowledge necessary in life and health-threatening situations.
First aid training - practical rescue skills
Under the guidance of experienced practitioners, the IMA Poland team learned how to respond correctly in situations where every second counts. The first aid training programme covered key life-saving issues that can save lives in the workplace and beyond.
Participants practised the correct application of dressings for different types of wounds and injuries. Special attention was given to techniques for assisting choking patients, where a quick and correct response is absolutely crucial to saving the life of the victim.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED defibrillator operation
One of the most important elements of the first aid training was learning how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. IMA Poland employees practised the correct technique for chest compressions and administering artificial respiration in accordance with current guidelines.
The training also included the practical operation of an automated external defibrillator AED. These devices are increasingly available in public places and workplaces, and knowing how to use them significantly increases the chances of survival for people with sudden cardiac arrest.
Fire safety - practical exercises
The second part of the training focused on fire safety. Specialists from the National Fire Service conducted a practical firefighting exercise, during which participants could test their skills under controlled conditions.
Firefighters also reminded people of the principles of making an effective call for help in a stressful situation. The correct communication of information to the emergency services can significantly reduce response times and increase the effectiveness of the rescue operation.
Evacuation procedures and fire prevention
The fire safety training programme also included a discussion of the evacuation procedures in place at the workplace. Employees learned about how to safely leave the building and the location of firefighting equipment and evacuation routes.
Experts highlighted the most common causes of fires in industrial environments and methods of prevention. Awareness of risks and knowledge of prevention are the basis for a safe workplace.
Safety at IMA Polska - a company priority
The organisation of first aid and fire safety training is part of the policy of the IMA Poland putting employee safety first. The company regularly invests in improving the team's health and safety and emergency response skills.
The two-day training reminded all participants that safety is not only about regulations and procedures written in documents. It is first and foremost an awareness of hazards, calmness in action and readiness to react immediately in an emergency.
Investment in staff competence
As a responsible employer, IMA Polska S.A. is committed to continuously improving the qualifications of its team. First aid and fire safety training courses are regularly organised to ensure that all employees have up-to-date knowledge and practical skills.
The company thanks the officers of the National Fire Service for imparting a wealth of practical knowledge and the entire team for their commitment during the training. Such initiatives build a culture of safety and foster a sense of responsibility for themselves and their colleagues.
Importance of first aid training in the workplace
Regular first aid training in workplaces is crucial for employee safety. Statistics show that correctly administered first aid within the first minutes of an incident increases the victim's chances of survival many times over.
In an industrial environment with specific hazards associated with production processes, rescue knowledge is particularly valuable. Workers trained in first aid are the first element in the chain of survival before the arrival of professional emergency services.
