Theory versus practice - a practical lesson for future National Revenue Administration staff

Last Friday we hosted the Ima Polska S.A. third-year students of the Stefan Batory College Complex in Konin (economic technical school, specialisation: customs and tax administration).
The plant was shown around by the president of Jakub Ima, who showed and discussed the various stages of the process and how everything works in the company's day-to-day operations.

The pupils saw the company from the inside - the successive stages of the process, the work of the laboratory and the bottling plant, and learnt how tinctures are made from seasonal fruit in the traditional way in the Wielkopolska Manufaktura Wódek.

Particular attention was paid to issues that students learn about in theoretical classes and which will be of key professional importance to them in a moment: excise duty, tax warehouse, banding and the excise duty suspension procedure. Krzysztof Ima, managing director and chief technologist, talked about what they look like in practice.

Practice complements theory well - and it is in such visits that you see how much the opportunity to see processes „live” gives.
It was a different lesson from the school desks - the participants enjoyed seeing and hearing so much.

And a good cake at the end was just a nice end to an intense day.
