Distillers' middlings - a valuable animal feed ingredient
Distillers' thresh is one of the most valuable by-products from the bioethanol production process. At IMA Polska, we offer GMO-free maize feed thresh, which is an excellent source of protein and energy for livestock. Our product is characterised by a protein content of at least 32% in dry matter, making it an extremely attractive feed ingredient for dairy and beef cattle.
What is distillers' thresh and how is it made?
Distillers' malt is a product obtained by decanting distillers' stillage. During production bioethanol from the maize produces a stock, which is then subjected to a dehydration process. This process results in a feed mill with a high concentration of nutrients. This is a natural method of managing the by-products of the biofuel industry, which fits in with the idea of a closed loop economy and sustainable development.
The production process of distillers' milling in our plant is fully controlled and optimised to preserve the maximum nutritional value of the final product. Thanks to the modern technologies used in IMA Poland we can guarantee the repeatability of the quality parameters of each batch of thresh.
Characteristics and composition of maize forage grist
The GMO-free maize distillers' hull offered by IMA Polska is characterised by its exceptional nutritional properties. The crude protein content is a minimum of 32% in dry matter, which places this product among the most valuable sources of plant protein available on the feed market. The protein contained in the threshing floor is easily assimilated by ruminant organisms.
In addition to its high protein content, fodder thresh also provides significant amounts of metabolic energy. It contains valuable nutrients, including amino acids, B vitamins and minerals. The composition of distillers' thresh makes it a partial substitute for more expensive feed components such as soya or rapeseed meal.
Main advantages of distillers' thresh from IMA Polska
Our fodder thresh distinguishes itself from the competition by several important features. First of all, it is a fresh product - it is loaded directly from the production line, which eliminates the risk of quality deterioration during storage. The freshness of the thresh has a direct impact on its nutritional value and palatability for the animals.
Another advantage is the origin of the raw material - we only use GMO-free maize. This is important for breeders who rely on natural feeding of their flocks or who produce according to organic certification requirements. The stability of the composition and availability throughout the year are additional advantages appreciated by our regular customers.
Use of distillers' thresh in cattle feeding
Distillers' middlings are widely used in the feeding of dairy and beef cattle. In the case of dairy cows, it is an excellent supplement to the feed ration, providing bypass protein, which is not broken down in the rumen and is only digested in the small intestine. This translates into better utilisation of protein by the animal's body and higher milk production.
In the feeding of fattening cattle, distillers' threshing malt aids weight gain thanks to its high energy and protein content. Growers also appreciate that distillers' thresh improves the palatability of the whole feed ration, which encourages the animals to take more feed. The regular use of distillers' thresh in cattle feeding translates into better production and economic results on the farm.
