Biogas production is a key element of IMA Poland's sustainability strategy. Our sustainable energy centre has a state-of-the-art biogas facility which supplies the plant with electricity and heat. This solution allows us to realise a closed-loop economy and minimise the environmental impact of industrial activities.<\/p>\n
Our biogas plant was designed and built on the basis of our own technology, developed by specialists from IMA Polska's R&D department. This demonstrates the company's innovative approach to the challenges of the energy transition and confirms the technological competence of our team.<\/p>\n
The use of proprietary technological solutions allows us to optimise production processes and adapt the installation to the specific needs of the plant. As a result, we achieve high energy efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental protection.<\/p>\n
The substrate used in our biogas plant is distillery stillage after centrifugation - a by-product of the bioethanol production<\/a>. This approach fits into the circular economy model, where waste from one process becomes the raw material for the next.<\/p>\n Distillery broth has a high methanogenic potential, making it an excellent substrate for anaerobic digestion. This process allows organic matter to be efficiently converted into biogas, which is then used to produce electricity and heat.<\/p>\n The use of distillery stillage as a substrate brings a number of environmental and economic benefits. First and foremost, it eliminates the problem of managing this by-product while generating a valuable energy carrier. In addition, the anaerobic digestion process reduces the organic pollutant load.<\/p>\n The biogas plant is an integral part of the sustainable energy centre IMA Poland<\/a>. The biogas produced feeds into cogeneration systems that generate electricity and heat simultaneously. This configuration maximises the energy potential of biogas.<\/p>\n Electricity produced from biogas covers part of the plant's needs, reducing dependence on external suppliers. Waste heat, on the other hand, is used in technological processes, further increasing the energy efficiency of the entire company.<\/p>\n IMA Poland is planning to expand its operations by selling green energy and biomethane to external customers. This is in response to growing market demand for renewable energy sources and low-carbon fuels.<\/p>\n Access to green energy and biomethane will allow our customers to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of manufactured products.
